In memory of “first encounters”.

Somewhere along the line
My soul will meet with yours somewhere in time
Somewhere along the line
You gave your love to me I gave you mine
Just a pair of tortured souls
Seeking refuge from their pain
And the need that we both had brought us close to love again
One night in that hotel closer than ever before
Destiny gave us that we were looking for
In the morning through the window I recall the rain that fell
After we shared one night in that hotel
One night in that hotel

And through the weeks to come
Closer we’d become to be undone
And like a child that’s lost
I opened up my heart at such a cost
I don’t think that I’d ever felt such fear inside
The fear of being hurt again
A fear I couldn’t hide
A memory so fresh that I just couldn’t hide the pain
The fear the wound would open up again
In the morning through the window I recall the rain that fell
After we shared one night in that hotel
One night in that hotel.

Your beauty haunts me still
We lit a flame that night in that hotel
Each time I looked at you
I couldn’t believe that it was true
We cleansed each other’s spirits
Purging two lifetimes of pain
Then hand in hand we left the room and walked into the rain
We shared our thoughts and dreams at breakfast further fanned the flame
Plunging headlong recklessly and into love again
In the morning through the window I recall the rain that fell
After we spent one night in that hotel
One night in that hotel
One night in that hotel.
