I have made a lot of really great friends through my music.
This song is for all of you. I wrote it in my friends’ Ted and Mechal’s kitchen.

When I call you and ask you
If you’ll help me with my plan,
You come running quickly as you can.

When I fell ill you helped me out
Asked nothing in return
You simply had to lend a helping hand.

Cuz that’s what friends are for
That’s what friends are for
That’s what friends are for.

You shared your homes and families
When you had precious little more
And gave your love to me a thousand score.

The memories and gratitude exceed what I can pay
And all you say is
“That’s what friends are for.”

That’s what friends are for
That’s what friends are for
That’s what friends are for.

All I hope is that I can
Be there for you some day
And yet I pray you never want or need.

What you have given grows and thrives
And blossoms from that seed
All I can do is pass out freely what you’ve given me.

Cuz, that’s what friends are for
That’s what friends are for
That’s what friends are for.
